Here's your chance to get an insight into the art of winemaking. Same grape, same vineyard, same winemaker. 3 completly different wine styles.
Wine 1 is the dry, white table wine style. "2018 Marsanne" It's floral, with citrus, honey and creamy oak tones. It recently received a brinze medal at the 2019 Yarra Valley Wine Show.
Wine 2 is an "orange" wine, "2019 Whole Bunched Marsanne" Fermented like a like a red wine (in contact with it's skins) and has been made without the use of any product or filtration, just straight up fermented grape juice and careful winemaking.
It's not your typical white wine, but it's wine!
It's fresh with apricots, floral notes, ginger spice, good acid and fine tannins. No additions, no filtration. Nothing. Also known as a "Natural" wine. It's funky, citrus, with hints of ginger and spice.
Wine 3 is the sticky dessert wine. "2018 Dessert Marsanne"The grapes were left to accumulate sugar on the vine, after picking the grapes were pressed to remove the skins. The juice was then frozen to remove the water (ice) from the juice. This process is known as "Fractional Freezing". This product brings a new meaning to small batch winemaking, where only 16 dozen half bottles were made. It's sweet, mardarin, stewed peach, green apple and marzipan.
All three wines are new releases and have been made with a minimal intervention mindset, respecting the alchemy that is traditional winemaking.
