Alkimi's 'The Good Earth' 2015 Syrah wins Silver at the Royal Melbourne Wine Awards November 2016
The success of this young brand continues with the award of a Silver Medal (92 points) for the 2015 Syrah at the Royal Melbourne Wine Awards. It was the only wine submitted by Alkimi.
Winemaker Stu Dudine said, "I consider this as a fantastic result. I like to show the natural 'edges' in my wines through no fining or filtration, which may not always be viewed favourably in wine shows."
The Royal Melbourne Wine Awards (RMWA) is Australia’s most respected wine show recognising and rewarding excellence in Australian winemaking.
Conducted by The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) the RMWA is renowned both nationally and internationally as one of Australia’s largest and most prestigious wine award programmes.
The 2016 Royal Melbourne Wine Awards received 3101 entries from over 500 exhibitors.
An award win at the RMWA is an honour of long-standing tradition, and is highly regarded amongst the national industry and around the world leading to increased sales, greater export opportunities and significant growth.
The judges consisted 35 leading Australian winemakers, wine journalists, sommeliers, wine buyers, distributors, and fine wine retailers overseen by Chair of Judges Tom Carson, General Manager and Chief Winemaker, Yabby Lake.
